Five of Our Favorite St. Louis Wedding Venues
January is wedding planning season so we thought we would help you make one of the biggest wedding planning decisions. The venue!
Planning your big day is a huge task. There are so many tough decisions to be made and and the venue is by far the toughest. With the multitude of details to consider, we hope our short little list will help you decide where you and your fiancé tie the knot this year!
So in no particular order…
Verde on Cherokee
What we love about it:
Cherokee on Verde is small and perfect for intimate weddings. Located in St. Louis’s Antique Row, you’re surrounded by historic architecture and mature shade trees that line the street. The venue offers a romantic outdoor reception space and an urban greenhouse for your ceremony. We absolutely fell in love with this place. If you’re planning an intimate day with your closest friends and family, we suggest Cherokee on Verde.
What we love about it:
One of our favorites for years now, we love pretty much everything about it. The location is great. You’re just a couple minutes from Tower Grove Park for portraits. The venue is all-in-one (that means you don’t have to drive all over the city). You have options when it comes to having your ceremony indoors or outside. And, most importantly, the staff is always amazing. Having great venue staff is very important for your day, and at Wild Carrot, you get that every time. Oh, and it’s just a nice place to look at.
What we love about it:
Like Wild Carrot, we have photographed many weddings here and it is always on our list of favorites. Every year we get to see so many wonderful couples say I-do in this beautiful greenhouse. We love the sunlight that comes in from every angle and we never have to use flash. It’s a timeless location for your wedding and the you will not be disappointed when you book it for your day.
What we love about it:
We’ve seen a million church weddings and they’re all great. But what about a church that’s been converted into a wedding venue? Main Street Abbey is a beautiful church built in 1866 in downtown Columbia, Illinois only 20 minutes from downtown St. Louis. We loved the attention to detail in this place. Everything you want from a church wedding, but tailored to fit the modern couple. You can stay on site and get ready on site. They even have a covered courtyard for your guests to enjoy cocktail hour. We were blown away by this place and highly recommend it.
What we love about it:
We know, we know. You’re picking up on a trend here. We love big windows and greenery! Sorry if that’s not your jam. Piper Palm House is just stunning. Nestled within Tower Grove Park next to the lily ponds, you just can’t beat the location. This venue is perfect for your average size weddings and looks great year round. You even have the option getting ready in the historic home next to the venue. We would shoot here every weekend if we could!
